Image:4E shop banner.jpg 4th Edition is the fourth base set produced for Warlord CCG, and the first official product produced by Phoenix Interactive. The set is comprised of 336 cards, with some being reprints, MRPs, altogether new cards or old cards reprinted using new names. It is sold as 110-card Adventure Path Sets.
Its release date was announced in a press release on February 6, 2008. The name "4th Edition" was widely used by fans even before it was officially coined in a February 15, 2008 press release. The name was selected because the game is closely related to Dungeons & Dragons and D&D released its "4th Edition" in May 2008, so the name was yet another connection between the two brands.
4th Edition was released for sale on July 31, 2008. Chronologically, it was released between Light & Shadow and Shattered Empires.
Manufacturer's suggested retail price for each Adventure Path Set was $31.99.

[edit] Product Description
The following text was printed on WarlordCCG.de before 4th Edition’s release date:
- The Warlord: Saga of the Storm CCG is one of the longest running Collectible Card Games in existance. It first set was published by Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) in April 2001 and it ran successfully for over six years.
- In January 2008 PHOENIX Interactive GmbH acquired the full publishing rights for Warlord.
- In Warlord the world of the Accordlands, the setting for AEG president John Zinsers original Dungeons & Dragons® Roleplaying Group, comes alive.
- Two armies of the six warring factions in the Accordlands face each other, with a powerful Wizard, Fighter, Cleric, or Rogue leading an army of multiple characters in the innovative Rank & File mechanic. With this mechanic position is imporant - adjacent characters might give you bonuses for your attack and you need to be close enough to your enemy to rain your arrows on him.
- The most basic mechanics like melee strikes, ranged strikes or saving throws all use a twenty-side dice, the d20, just as in Dungeons & Dragons®. Many powerful fantasy characters, items and actions that simulate spells and feats add to the power of your arsenal.
- You win when you defeat the opponent’s Warlord.
- You can play this quick-playing game of 10-20 minutes while you wait for your Roleplaying group to assemble, with friends in a local tournament or the international tournaments at GenCon Indianapolis (USA) or KoHIT (Germany) where you can meet many members of the exceptionally friendly Warlord community.
[edit] Pre-Release Offer

- July 31st 2008 marks the release of Warlord: Saga of the Storm's rebirth.

You are guaranteed one of each rare, two of each uncommon and three of each 4E legal common cards. The offer comes free of shipping within the US if you pick up the starters at GenCon Indy 2008 (in that case manually deduct the shipping charges) or they will be sent to you after the event.
- For each set you buy you get the special promo card Judge Aeacus otherwise only available when you buy a similar set in your local game store. This offer is valid until July 15th, 2008.
