Archos Loth
From MWiki
Archos Loth is a roaming Medusan Lord character. He was printed as a promo and there are only five copies in print. Players who defeated Archos Loth received one copy of him and his weapon, Corruption. He was defeated four times and the final copy of Archos Loth was lost in the mail. Archos Loth was revealed at Gen Con 2007 on August 18, 2007. Archos Loth is legal in Epic format, Open format and in the deck of his Medusan Lord runner.
There was one special rule governing who could challenge Archos Loth: players were not allowed to challenge him using a Warlord that had previously defeated him.
On November 8, 2008 it was announced that Chris Vaccaro was going to take challenges against his personal copy of Archos Loth. See 4E Challenges below.

[edit] 4E Challenges
4E challenges against Archos Loth are bound by the following rules:
- All challenges with Archos Loth are 4E format.
- Cost of a challenge is 1 unsigned Dragonlord (card will be signed, and returned to the challenger).
- If a challenger is successful in slaying Archos Loth, they will be awarded the copy of Archos Loth but not Corruption.
- Time limit for the game is 45 minutes. If after 45 minutes the game has still not ended time will be called. The challenger then has until the end of the current turn to defeat Archos Loth, otherwise the challenger loses.
- If Archos Loth has not been defeated after 250 challenges, the runner reserves the option to officially retire Archos Loth.
- During these challenges Corruption receives the following erratum:
- The line "Corruption may not be removed from the game or destroyed" is replaced with "Corruption may not be removed from the game or discarded from play."
- The line "Put all characters killed by that action into play in an opposing front rank..." is replaced with "Put all characters killed by that action into play ready in an opposing first rank..."
- It gains the following flavor text: "The Empire has fallen, and the Harvester corrupts the weak-willed... I shall not let that monstrosity have all the pleasure."
[edit] Rumors
It was rumored that AEG intended to print ten copies of Archos Loth. Additionally, since he bears the text "Keeper of Zefal Falun" it was believed that after all ten copies were defeated Zefal Falun the lich was to be printed as some sort of challenge. All of these rumors are unsubstantiated.
