Promo is a reference to the rarity of a card. A rarity of promo denotes a card as one that is unavailable in packaged product. Promos can be any type of card, but the printing of exceptionally powerful or exceptionally useful promos is disapproved of by players because it unbalances power in favor of those that have the cards, in other words they unlevel the playing field. There is a disorganized movement among players to see promos made universally available after they've been in print for a certain duration, or to see promos made into alternate art cards. Promos are denoted by a rarity symbol of a triangle.
